Furnace Maintenance Tips for Cold Georgia Winters

Georgia winters are short but can be brutal when temperatures drop into the teens. Here’s what we recommend every homeowner do before the first cold front.

1. Change or Schedule Filter Replacement

A dirty filter is the #1 cause of furnace problems in winter. Triple C members never have to think about it.

2. Test Your Thermostat

Make sure it’s calling for heat properly. Smart thermostats can also alert you to problems early.

3. Listen for Strange Noises

Banging, whistling, or rumbling often means the heat exchanger or inducer motor needs attention — call us before it fails on the coldest night.

4. Check Carbon Monoxide Detectors

Replace batteries every six months. A failing furnace can produce dangerous CO levels.
